When Paul asked for a volunteer to build Tamiya's Panzerkampfwagen III Ausf. N I jumped at the opportunity. I have always been fascinated with this versatile workhorse of the German army. This blog will cover topics such as soldering photo-etch, applying white-wash camouflage, and heavy weathering.
For this project I will use the following kits:
Tamiya Panzerkampfwagen III Ausf. N #35290
Aber Panzer III Ausf. J #35290
Aber Covering to model plastic fenders for PzKfw III Sturmgeschuetz III #35 A27
Modelkasten Pz. III/IV 40cm links (early model)
My main reference for this build will be "Achtung Panzer No. 2 Panzerkampfwagen III"

| The Fenders | Jul 20, 2008 |
| First of all, let me say I'm not a big fan of Tamiya kits. The reason for this is, I do not care for all the locater holes. Just look at the photo, the fenders are full of them, and if you wish to use after market options or omit tools, it usually means a lot of extra work carefully plugging the holes without destroying the tread pattern. Fortunately Aber has provided us with a clever option...... |
