I needed to do something different to off set the "Smart kit" syndrome so I looked through some of my books and thought of some of the models out there and came up with this one. I am using the Zvezda T-34/76 as the base kit and the Maqutte T-34 1940 kit for its early wheels and link to link tracks. Both kits did not cost that much and the Zvezda kits is not a bad model. On the other hand the Maquatte kit is only good for some of its parts. I will be building the tank seen from the Squadron T-34 book since the Zvezda kit comes with the exact decals to match.

| Here is the painted model. Model Master paints are used. I never paint a single shade, instead I do a lot of mixing of paint and lighting with white on the armour surfaces. The turret areas that are to recieve decals are first sprayed with Future Floor Wax, as most aircraft modellers do. It gives a gloss surface for the decals and never yellows, so I hear. The decals are then set with Micro-Sol. |
