Modeller Build Logs

Well let's see. My buddy Saul Garcia asked me to do a build review on this wonderful set about a year and a half ago. If he only know how slow I really am, he might have had second thoughts! But all the work is done and I am ready to share my little adventure with you! I am going to use the Sunken Road base as a basis for an early morning D-Day vignette where 3 paratroopers from the 82nd ariborne have surprised a speiss and his helper hauling food to their unit behind the lines. What a surprise the Para's get when they discover BEER! Unfortunatly for the Germans, the boys at Battalion don't want prisioners, but they do want the beer! I will leave it up to your imagination if the Para's pull a Lt Stone, or just let em go. So begins my Vignette "Just the beer, sir?"

Introduction Parts is parts - what you see is what you get. Lets get going! Green thumbs NOT required Up against the wall Go Figure Putting the cart before the horse Coffee, Tea, or ...... BEER!

Go FigureDec 2, 2007
Figures are an intergral part of this vignette, infact without them its kinda lacking! I am not a world class figure painter, so this part was kinda difficult for me. For the Axis figures I used DML's Georgian Legion, Normandy 1944 set. I did swap out the heads with hornet's super offerings. I also add some figure PE from Lion Roar. There aren't many Allied D-day Paratrooper figs out there in styrene, infact I couldn't find any so I had to resort to both resin and metal. I ended up choosing two sets from Nemrod and one lone figure from Infintiy shape. the Nemrod figures were mix and matched to get poses I was happy with as well as hornet heads, while the other figure just got a head swap. The weapon and helmet straps are from techstar, while the final helmet netting was made from nylon stocking material. Make sure if you raid the wifes supply that you ask for a set with a run, or you will be the one running!
