Hi Guys,
My wife dropped off a Jo-Ann flyer onto my lap this morning. What's the significance? She knows I am an 'honorary Scotsman' and give frugal new meaning. Anyway, I want to share this with all of you.
From January 12th to February 10th, 2007, selected Ott-Lite lamps are on sale at half off. This is important for modelers in general.
When I moved int to my new home, I claimed the garage as my workshop and installed light fixtures along with color corrected fluorescent bulbs. While good, I needed something for the bench.
Looking at Micro-Mark, I balked at how expensive some no brand lamps with color corrected lamps were and my wife showed me Jo-Ann's flyer (2 years ago). Having already made up my mind to buy a $50USD (!) desk lamp, I went to Jo-Ann and bought a desk lamp with 2X magnifier for $50. I made note of the return policy (told you I am frugal).
Anyway, it was a GREAT investment and the difference in colors as well as eye fatigue made me a convert. I bought a second lamp (of course, only at half off) along with spare bulbs.
FYI, I own OTL13MAG (2X Magnifier Task Lamp) and T8637T (18w Table Lamp). In hind sight, I should have gotten T8337R (Jupiter Magnifier Lamp) for $20USD more, instead of the latter, and simplified spares as both lamps use the 13w bulb.
