Thanks! It looks like you and I are on the track (pun intended!) when it comes to cleats. If they were mounted with a small, flush head screw, I just cant imagine that they managed to all stay on. The Russian stepp must be litered with thrown ice cleats! Thanks for the reply and info. I am going to go back and look through some other books and see what else i can dig up!
