Isn't just the return rollers that are wrong? Those should come off easily.
If I was going the route or removing them altogether I'd cut the suspension arms off with nippers to save the wheels and cut as much as I could with the nips. Then I'd just grind away what's left with a large coarse burr in a dremel tool. It'll probably break off when it gets close to the glue.
