I am a huge believer in KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid) and always look for the simple or easy way. The problem here is that the white ring of the star and the letters of the serial number lay over where the parts go on the hood and must have been painted on the actual vehicle. I thought about cutting out the areas and certainly would have if the were in the clear area. To cut them from the white areas brings an added register problem to the equation that I did not want to deal with. I also thought about buying the star template and painting the star but I have some concerns about being able to lay the template flat enough on the surface to keep from having over spray becoming a problem but it may be worth a try. Then I would still have the serial numbers to deal with.
I was more interested in what the Sol solution would do in this case than anything else. I did not think it would suck the decal down over that parts but I wanted to see what others had tried with it.
