The base of the gun is part b42
not b39.
b39 lays flat inside part b42
and the gun assembly sits on top
of part b42.
Then all of that goes on L8
Based on the picture you're showing
it looks like you glued part b39
to the outside of part b42.
I've built three of these guns,
and trust me....they go together...
with the only mistakes being in the
instructions not the parts fit.
