I've bought all my Cavalier from Ebay...

I've used Eduard (as well as Aber) zimmerit sets for 1/72, and one for 1/48. I have not had the problem you're experiencing. I gently rough up the areas to be bonded with a medium sandpaper, and I use epoxy instead of superglue. Perhaps this is the answer...?
