These days the old Gunze kits main attraction is as collectors items.
Dragon took all the old 'Hi Tech' kits, including the Stug III and
replaced the white metal with new plastic that is most cases superior to
the original. Today's photoetch is generally better and easier to use
than the old Gunze stuff and to top it all off the original Model Kasten
tracks supplied with these kits have been eclipsed by more accurate
working types by Model Kasten and Friulmodel.
If I were building a late Stug I would start with the Dragon kit. If I
were building an early to mid version I would start with the new Tamiya
kit. I would replace thre tracks, use Model Kasten's Stug III detail
set, use some PE and would achieve a better result than building the old
'High Tech' kit.
