Without any doubt, I can't begin work without my scalpels and magnifying visor. Scalpel blades and handles are readily available at dozens of locations with the click of a mouse. I've seen them in shows, Squadron carries them, and I believe they are offered by Micro Mark. After a years use, a scalpel blade still seems sharper than a new Exacto blade. There are 4 blade shapes, I use 11s and 12s most.
I never owned a visor till this year. I was fortunate to work with Bill Miley and Tom Gannon of the now defunct MP Models. They always wore theirs, and I knew they helped. I just didn't buy one till now.

I HAVE NO IDEA HOW I EVER DID ANYTHING WITHOUT THIS THING!!!!!

It's like I was half blind till now. Spend the money and get a good one. Mine has 4 lenses and a light. Detail that had been a blur close up, is now crisp and enlarged, making painting faces a delight.
