Paul, I have used lead foil for front and rear sections on M48's and M60's and replaced complete fenders of T34's. It works very well. The problems are, lead foil is getting hard to find and lead is hazzardous to your health. You have to be careful when sanding with the dust. I also have used aluminium foil. You should be able to find it at your local lumber yard or hardware store. It comes in a roll like duct tape. I clean the glue off with paint thinner if I want it real thin or just fold the sticky sides together for heaver foil. I've had good luck using it both ways.
