This is my opinion but I believe the later angled front screens came about due to a clearance issue when the up armored turrets were introduced. The larger turret would snag the older style screens when rotating. But these screens can be seen on other KV types as well. Best bet is if modeling any thing other than an early KV (rectangle screen) or uparmored turret KV (angled front screen) is to base the screen type off of a picture.
