Hi Neil

Thanks a lot for Your description.

You also mentionned the rearward machine gun.

There’s only one picture I know of the rearward machine gun station. I found it in a Polish magazine called Czołgi w boju 4/Ciężki Czołg KW from Jausz Magnuski (James Grandsen) which was edited in 1997 in Warsaw by PELTA. You’ll find the picture on page 27 (maybe it‘s even the picture You are relying to).
On the two following pages you find a large longitudinal cross section drawing and a kind cut off drawing from a ten o' clock point of view about six feet above ground level which partially shows the arrangement inside the turret, the fighting and the driving compartment. Unfortunately this overwiev rather raises questions instead of answering them.

There are some drawings in an old Soviet book from the early Fifties about common technical matters in Russian tanks and tank recovery practice I once looked into a couple of years ago, but I’d have to retrieve it from our local library (it’s hard to find if you’ve forgotten the title).

However my sources are very small and scarce compared to all the information You collected for Your new compedium to be released hopefully very soon.

Arun
