Not to bore everyone to death but some of this may interest you.

Tuesday (yesterday for me), the U.S. House Committee on Oversight and Gov't. Reform held a hearing that included an assessment of the EFV program by the GAO's annual report on weapons purchases.

The report indicated the program was 168% over budget and 8 years behind schedule! It highlighted a combination of Pentagon inefficiency and poor design process by General Dynamics.

Even so, and after much criticism, the committee did NOT formally recommend scrapping the project. The Defense Dept. says it is planning to purchase 593 EFV's for $13.2 billion.

The Pentagon's representative at the hearing said he could not comment on the EFV program (the EFV survived a major attempt to kill the program last year, where after going through the process, it was found to be "essential to national security" and that "new cost estimates are reasonable"!

I'll post new build images of EFV No.6 soon. Here's a shot of the rear of prototype no.4 taken during production of the Military Channel's show, Future Weapons
