Subject:  Model Gallery - T-54 Egyptain Army c. 1967List thread.

 Date:  Apr 25, 2001

This T-54 is built from the Trumpeter Chinese Type 59 kit. Modifications were minimal, as the kit includes optional/leftover parts included to make many of the various T-54 variants. The attachment points for engineer gear were not fittet to the lower hull, as per several photos of Egyptain tanks of this vintage. The turret and machinegun in this kit were improved by Trumpeter for their similar T-54 kit. The early type 100mm gun was carved from basswood. Stock Trumpeter figures were used. These were painted in Humbrols. The tank was finished with a Tamiya spray paint Desert Tan, and weathered with oil washes, a light drybrush and paint chips. No markings were added, as many Egyptain tanks did not seem to carry any in 1967.
