Hi guys,

I always thought that the 'magic' in the 'Magic Tracks' was the absence of the need to clean them. May I conclude from above comments that they are also made from another (weird?) kind of styrene then the kit itself is?

Though I have a few kits in the stash with magic tracks, I never build a set till now. Experiences as you guys had make me rather hesitant to even try. I too make complete runs with indy non working tracks and let them dry on the kit. But if these during drying damage/warp your running gear I'm really not stimulated to 'test' this on a expensive kit with X hours of work invested in it.

I see Dragon issueing more and more kits with their 'new flexible one piece wonder tracks' instead of the Magic indy tracks. Can it be that they are aware of some problems with the 'Magic Tracks' and silently take them out of their kits? Or is there another reason for this change in policy?

Regarding soft styrene tracks and tires, I have had enough bad experiences trough the years with these, breackages, dissolving wheels, splitting, peeling paint, etc., that I think I stick with the likes of Model Kasten and Friull for the time being. At least till the new Dragon flexible tracks have proven to be stable over a longer period.

Cheers,
Alex
