The quick type dries to a yellowish color and the smooth is white. The quick starts to get tacky fairly quickly and sets the same day. The smooth stuff takes overnight.

I use the quick type beucase I am lazy and don't want to wait, plus I use it to make stuff like stowage. Its a bit more plastic that milliput, which I always thought was like dry, crumbly cookie dough. You can smooth it with water, etc. and it bonds well to plastic.
