Hi Scot,
With not working individual link tracks I make one complete run at the time.
The trick is doing it as fast as possible! So have all the links needed ready and cleaned, and put the finished run on the running gear before the glue finally sets. So you can 'fold' it over the sprocket, idler and wheels and also put 'sag' in it.
If you leave the sprocket, idler and final connection between the links not glued you can remove the track run after drying so you can paint it seperately. I put the not glued final connection between the links always at the sprocket, so the teeth on the latter keeps the track 'together'.Of course you can make two of three runs instead of one complete, guess that is a personal preference.
Personally I prefer working tracks, though more expensive I think a modell stands or falls with convincing tracks. So with nowadays kit prices (and AM used!) I think saving on tracks is penny wise but pound foolish! But that is of course a personnal and decadent conviction.
Cheers,
Alex |
