Alex,
Thanks for the input. I had a feeling that's what I should have been doing, but when I first attempted to do something like this on my first kit, I found that the links keep coming undone as the glue had not set. Now I know :)
I literally just finished struggling with one tread on one side of my tiger II and it look's AWFUL! So.. I think I'll rework it to make it appear like a thrown tread or perhaps battle damaged.
