I wouldn't expect acetone to do the job for you, Alex, and the acetone will attack the kit plastic quickly and severely. Use a fan to evaporate any residual acetone as quickly as possible (also an extractor for your own safety - you'll need more acetone than you think). Non-acetone nail polish is another unlikely possibility - at least it won't harm the kit parts.
There are various kinds of epoxy, so it's worth a try if you can protect the kit plastic. My experience is that anything that will touch the epoxy will also do a job on the resin tracks as well as the kit plastic, so at least test some of the resin material before you try to loosen the tracks.
