A good way to tone down shiny new look tracks is with a series of very light dusting of about 20%-80% Tamiya buff with whatever thinner you use. put down one light coat and let it dry and see how you like it. You can use any manufacturers paint that is a very light tan color. The 20% paint 80% thinner makes it very light and suttle and takes away the freshly waxed and polished look. You can add more layers if you want to make it look more used, but if you are looking for a new set of tracks one or two layers should do the trick. If you use Tamiya, you can add a little of their "flat agent" to help with the shine even more. Just be very light with the flat agent.
