I would like to caution that The Chopper works much better with thin strips than with rod material. With rods, the length is preserved, but the thin razor blade can deflect and produce an angled cut rather than a true perpendicular cut; the thicker the rod, the more likely the cut is to angle from top to bottom. This is a common problem with other similar products I've used. This matters if you're trying to cut gun barrels, tool handles, support rods, or nut heads. Nevertheless, I wouldn't be without mine.
Perhaps The Chopper II has found a way to better support the blade.
Yrs,
CTew
