James, check also with the larger retail sellers if that's where you got the kit. I bought a Tristar kit on sale from Squadron, and it arrived with two crucial frames missing. A call to Squadron had them back in my box within a week at no additional charge. Considering the sale discount, Squadron did this purely for customer satisfaction.
When you lose a part yourself, however, the thing to do is to offer to pay.
