I seriously question the value of 8X. I used a lope of this power for photo work and the distance from eye to subject was about 2 inches and the area viewed was only 3/4 "x 1"!
I use a jeweler head set that allows me to use both eyes and magnifies the hairs on the back of my hand very well as the areas of the model I want to see more clearly. For more magnification, I wear "reading glasses" under the jewelers. Frankly, I don't think further magnification would be useful.
I would suggest you try some "drug store" #12 reading glasses...that's about 2.5 magnification and then add more light over you work area. Do that before spending hundreds of dollars on specilized equipment. |
