Hi Evan,

Mike Powers' excellent and detailed reply just about sums it up.
The only item I disagree with him is his text 'if you are worried about resin dust...etc'.

His 'if' makes it look like you have the choice to either worry or not.
I don't want to be a spoilsport but that option just isn't there, at least not if you take your personal health and that of others around you seriously.
So please do worry. That is if you do not take any kind of precaution.

Generally accepted rules of practice for working with resin are :
-Wear a close-fitting face mask at all times.
-When sanding resin use a LOT of water to keep the dust particles solidly together. Clean up all water with resin dust very thoroughly after each resin session.
-If you don't wish to use surgical gloves then very thoroughly wash your hands with soap and plenty of water after each resin session
-Don't eat or drink when sanding resin and keep foodstuffs well away.
-Keep pets like cats or dogs well away from your work area.

If you stick to these rules you can be pretty sure that you will be able to build with resin parts for the rest of your life without health problems.

Oh yes and one other small thing that caught my eye.
Washing all resin parts before putting them together is okay but you got to do it a second time after everything is finished.
Handling parts with your fingers during building puts just about as much grease back on as you washed off before you started.

Happy (and Safe) Modelling
Jer
