| Gentlemen, May I offer a tip or two on these tracks? Be aware that they are not a perfect fit for the DML drive sprockets and set up your sprockets accordingly(the sprockets seem a bit narrow)It also helps to shorten the connecting pins a bit prior to assembly(only on the side you expect to face outward) as this helps replicate the look of the real thing and looks much neater when completed. They are nearly impossible to keep "workable", however replacing the plastic connecting pins with brass rod of an appropiate diameter fits the bill. As for bending then around sprockets/return rollers a light bead of glue does it, but avoid the guide teeth until you're satisfied with the fit. Expect to spend an extraordinary amount of time, but patience and careful work will reward your efforts. A friend at Saturday's Region 4 IPMS convention said he spent 20 hours on the DML originals, expect to double that with the AFV Club items. The look is there, the choice remains yours. |
