DML corrected the mantlet that is incorrect for the Korean kit when they
issued it as the W.W. II kit. I don't think Shanghai has/will changed
anything except they include now the new lower hull from the POA
flamethrower.
The lower hull is the old Italeri one, and you must remove the VVSS
mountings. DML's HVSS suspension is somewhat tedious to build, and the
wheels are poorly molded. The way the suspension mounts to the hull is
also made up and not realistic. The idler wheel mount is not good,
either, and is missing some detail that you have to remove from the VVSS
chassis for the HVSS parts. The tools are not so good on the upper
hull, as they are the old Italeri British pattern toold. Some people
don't like the turret shapes, although they are well detailed. The main
gun barrel is about 1/4" too short, also.
Both kits are closer to W.W. II tanks, as the Korean kit doesnt have any
true Korean war features like infantry call box, exhaust baffle, etc.
Not the easiest kits to build, but not bad with some TLC. |
