Subject:  Model Gallery - Tiger I Final version (under construction)List thread.

Italeri late Tiger 1 model mixed with various pieces of Tamiya Tiger 1 "leftover" parts to make it to a Final version. The italeri kit comes with full zimmerit cover sheets that are supposed to be glued on the turret and chassi, but my opinon the pattern is too perfect so I decided to apply own zimmerit. It is done the same way as my last Tiger 1 with Testor/Italeri putty. Parts that has been replaced are:

TAMIYA: the gun with the smaller muzzlebreak, MG34/w rack, close-defence weapon-cover (behind the loaders hatch), headlight, tow-cable, antenna mount, shovel/axe/slegdehammer/crowbar, fire extinguisher and the loaders hatch. Tracks are from Tamiya link-by-link.
And ABER PE-set Tiger 1 grilles are excellent, better then tamiyas own.

2001-06-30: Finally my Tiger 1 is finished, was working on the final wear with a pencil around the tank. It is painted with Tamiya colors standard german 3 tone scheme. Weathered with pastel chalks and the camo is faded with a coat of dust applied with an airbrush.

This Tiger 1 is finished in sPzAbt 505 serving on the eastern front.
