Yes and Yes, the basic turret, hull etc of the academy kit is better than
the tamiya kit, use the a3 bits (mantlet, gun, airfilters etc) to make a
M48A3 Mod B, you will have to modify the kits mudguards but apart from that
its pretty easy, do yourself a favour though and put afvclub track on it.
The details etc in the Squadron in action book are sueful but use Hunnicutts
Patton if possible
