My favourite method is to use the microwave oven in the kitchen (I'm
chief cook in our house, so 'she who must be obeyed' doesn't get much of
a say in what it's used for!). How long it needs depends on size- for a
lower hull start with a short time (say 30 seconds @ 650W) and see how
it goes.
The neat thing is that the thick sections absorb the microwave radiation
better than the thin bits, so things like track-guards are less likely
to distort than with the hot water method (where they heat up quickest
and can become very soft before the main hull has softened much at
all). Beware though- the whole thing can get hot enough to burn you!
