If you cut the p/e on a sheet of glass with a *sharp* blade, it's possible
to avoid creating the burr at all. Otherwise, you've got to use a file or
maybe some fine sandpaper to clean these off.

Gel-type superglues give you a few seconds to work, or for things like
rivets and other surface details that won't be getting pulled on, you can
use clear gloss varnish.

-m, tried the gloss varnish for an antenna base once-- it's not strong
enough for that!
