Ernest,
I would paint the model in its normal camoflague pattern, i.e: yellow
basecoat with red/brown and green camo and them use white oil paints to
drydrush later. This will give you a real nice look. The white was put on
the tank by the crew in winter time and it was put over the existing colors.
Since oil paints are a bit transparent and stay wet long when you dry brush
the white oil paint on you will end up with an effect that looks like the
white is wearing away and the undercoat of camo colors are starting to come
through, like in real life. I hope this helps!
