| Subject: | SU-100 barrels? | |
| Date: | Apr 13, 2002 |
| From: | Gary Darlington | |
I ordered the Jordi Rubio 100mm barrel for my DML SU-100 and when it
arrived I was disappointed to find that it had some sort of collar
around the muzzle. This makes it inaccurate for a WWII SU-100. I'm not
happy with Jordi Rubio because the package says that the barrel is
acceptable for either the SU-100 or T-54; but the pictures on the back
of the package clearly show the SU-100 with a barrel that DOES NOT have
the collar and the T-54 with a barrel that DOES have the collar. So JR
knows that there is a difference between the two and that the barrel is
not accurate for the SU-100, but nevertheless markets this item as being
OK for that vehicle. That's just plain deceptive as far as I'm
concerned. I will never again purchase a Jordi Rubio barrel sight
unseen.
Then I noticed a review of the Elefant 100mm here on Track-Link. I was
disappointed to learn that it too has the collar on the muzzle and
suffers from being too thin as well.
So, I have two questions. One: does any company make a decent metal
barrel for the SU-100? Two: does anybody want to buy a Jordi Rubio
barrel that's only good for a T-54? |
