Hi Paul,

I think I may have found something you may be interested in. I got a sheet
of medium weight pewter from Michaels, you know, the crafts store.

The stuff struck me as being almost the same as the wine bottle "lead"
sheet. The material is sold under the label "ArtEmbossTM" by a company
called Paragona. It says on the package that its a product of Spain. There
were also sheets of copper too. They come rolled into a clear acetate tube.
There is a cardboard tube in the middle.

The idea behind its use is for craftspeople to make metal embossings to use
in their craft projects.

The sheet is 9 1/4 x 12" (237.5mm x 305mm) in size. I can't remember how
much it was, but it didn't seem too expensive.

I can't wait to use this stuff.

If you have a Michaels near you check out the same section for fine brass
and copper mesh screens as well as a smallish expanded metal screens. These
are all designed to be used as armatures for sculpture. I was blown away by
the possibilities for scale modeling.
