Well, I'm far from a master, but here's the list I wouldn't be without:

- Hold and Fold (both metal gizzy for bending straight etch and the rolling
set for making curved pieces)
- really good set or two of tweezers...you can get some dandies at jewellers
supply outfits or I found a few I like at Lee Valley Tools
- full line of superglue "mixes" - thin, thick, etc. plus accelerator
- soldering iron, flux and solder (you want a small, fairly hi-wattage iron
and some alligator-clip style heat sinks - try Radio Shack)
- set of fine needle files - jewellers again, or often a place like Princess
Auto, if you're north of the 48th like me
- some jewellers pliers...small needle-nose types with flat surfaces, side
cutters, etc. - you'll figure out what you need as you go.

For small pieces, I usually hold the folded part with tweezers, touch the
edge to be attached to a puddle of thin or medium superglue and place it on
the model, ready with the accelerator to zap it if it doesn't want to stay
put.

Tony Greenland's Masterclass book has a great section on soldering PE...for
complicated assemblies, it's the only way to go, and not that hard once you
try it a few times.
