It is quite easy and fast to make your own Zimmerite.
Mix Putty (any kind available will do the job, Tamya Revell, Humbrol...)
with ordinary
modelling cement (use the liquid fast drying type) and apply at smaller
surfaces at the time. Let dry for about 2-5 minutes and make the Zimmerite
pattern with an apropriate screwdriver....It will dry in about half an hour.
If you do mistakes you can apply some Acetone (within the next 15 minutes or
so) and redo the job.

I Have not tried the Eched ones yet as I find the other method OK
