| Subject: | Individual track-link questions, how do you assemble them? | |

Hello T-L,
I usually use a jig to assemble sections of the indy track-links before
putting the "link and lengths" together. The only part I use individual
links is around the sprocket and the idler.
Tamiya shows a different method for their individual links. They recommend
cementing the whole run first and wrapping the half-dried track around the
wheels. Then to simulate sag, the track will be pressed down by cotton balls
or tissue until dried.
I have never done it the Tamiya way, although it seems much easier than the
link-and-length jig-assembly method.
Is it feasible for DML tracks? I understand they are of a different
material. But I have a feeling that it'd work too! Can someone shed some
light on this?
Thanks! |
