| Subject: | Removing PART PE photoresist | |
| Date: | May 5, 2002 |

Hello,
I was about to start using PART's PE set for DML's Elefant and I thought I'd
have a go at removing the photoresist that's on the frets.
I had an easy time of it with Easy Off oven cleaner. I laid the fret into a
bowl, spritzed on the oven cleaner and left it for a few minutes. A rinsing
and a bit of rubbing left the fret fairly clean.
For the heck of it I applied a bit more to get some little specks off and I
left that application for a couple of hours. After another rinse the PE was
clean. The brass was largely unaffected and possibly "pickled" meaning the
brass would be ideal for soldering at this point. The brass itself suffered
no deterioration.
Hope this helps.
