Jack,
I don't have either of these two Italeri kits, but I've built their Beep,
ambulance and now their water tanker. My understanding is that the staff car
and 1.5 ton are fairly accurate. But I've also got the Skybow versions of
those kits and they are truly outstanding. The main problem with the
Italeri/Peerless Max kits (which are also being sold under the Bilek label and
were marketed by Testors back fifteen or twenty years ago) is that the chassis
components are very fiddly and the instructions are not always that clear.
The Skybow kits would be simpler builds and offer crisper details.
But having said all that, the Italeri kits can be built up into respectable
models with a tad of care. Eduard sets do a good job on adding additional
detail. If you can get their grill assembly down, though, you rank up there
in the masters!
