Thanks.
The Kübel's engine is essentially identical to VW Beetle engines, right up
to the late '50s and early '60s. Fuel pump, Solex carb, Bosch
distributor/cap, generator, etc. all the same. The only visible difference
being the airclear and the ignition coil being moved from the back to the
fan shroud to the front near the distributor. The early Beetles, until the
mid '55s, even used the same speedometer/instrument cluster as the early
Kübels.
I've also had help from two fellows that own Kübels and have been extremely
helpful in answering any questions I've had.
