Hi Mike,

I've never seen fine wire like this anywhere but in small motor windings. I
can't think of why a retail outlet would offer this kind of thing for sale
to the general public its use being so specialized.

That being said, I'm wondering if you should check out your local fishing
supply store. I think thin wires are used for fly tying. I've been meaning
to drop in, but haven't had the spare time.
