I would think this would be a good kit to start with. The PE set is about
medium level in complexity. Some tricky parts are pieces of the MG, some of
the equipments clamps, and getting the screen to look right. Otherwise a
good starting point.
Here's some pointers:
1) The key with PE is to take your time. Plan ahead how you are going to
bend and attach.
2) I use an adhesive called LockTite which seems to work the best for
attaching PE to plastic
3) Try to clean the parts with soap and water before detaching from the
sprue and minimize contact with your fingers
4) Anneal (heat) the PE part first to make it soft and easier to bend
5) Don't worry about using too much glue. I prefer to ensure a good strong
attachment and then clean up the mess with debonder and a Q-tip
6) I would recommend completing the major plastic sub-assemblies first and
then attach PE. No matter how you try, small pieces of PE will break off
with too much handling
7) Assess before hand if a part really needs to be replaced with PE. My
experience shows about 10-15% of the time the existing part is just fine.
8) Beware Tweezer Launch!
Hope this helps.
