Hello my name is Alex Johnson. I am a full time college student who has some artistic abilities as well as a military history buff. I am going to enter the hobby of 1/35 scale military modelling, and need some essential advice. I want to know what basic supplies I will need to produce quality 1/35 finished models. What I had in mind is...

Enamel Paints (here, should I go Spray or bottle on some?)
Oil Paints (are these just for washes? Mix in normal paint thinner? What colours should I get to start?)
Brushes (here I got the general idea, any suggestions?)
AirBrush (Again, I know I need airbrush thinking Iwata Eclipse series, what else do I need?)
Concerning Airbrush (Do I need a compressor? Do I use normal paints or should I use special paints?)
Future Floor Wax (I guess you guys use this for sealant
Pastels (should I get a set of earthtones?)
Other (special glue? Special knives? any other things?)

I know about the kits and all, and how to research and plan a piece, thnx to everyone out there who posts such invaluable information for the general public. What I really want to know is what I am going to need to not have any hassles besides my own applied ability to do these models. Any advice at all would be extremely helpful guys, thnx so much:).
