Oh yes -- I've made three models with these tracks so far, and here's some advice:
1) Be prepared to spend some time. Just getting the sprue attachment off each flat plate took patience and time -- the attachment is so thick that it impinges on the detail of the piece. I did a LOT of shaving to make them look right.
2) toss the track pins. It's virtually impossible to make them string together properly this way. Instead, simply overlap each link with its neighbors and put on some aftermarket nuts to hide the empty holes.
3) To the best of my knowledge, there's no effective way to assemble these off the model. I assembled each bogy main assembly separate from the chassis and glued the links on essentially one by one.
In the end, though, they really do enhance the look of the kit. I love the FT-17 and its variants, and only have five kits to make! I figure about a month of evenings just doing the tracks.
P.S. -- I've got some pics of the finished items if you'd like to see them.
