hi Steven,
are you using the mesh that came with the kit? i got this copper wire mesh from a craft store,(or the craft section at walmart?) $5 for a 3ft. by 3ft. area. its very easy to work with.
I dry fit the mesh into the basket and then touch the contact areas with a wire dipped in super glue.(crazy glue would be fine)
