Steven,

Working with mesh isn't that hard at all. The Leopard 2A5 has a very fine
mesh that should be applied on the outside of the cage construction not the
inside!
You can use normal plastic glue for the nylon mesh. Use superglue
(cyanoacrylate) if you plan on replacing the nylon mesh with photoetched
mesh.
Tip: Eduard has a PE update set for the Tamiya Leopard 2A5 which has two
perfect basket mesh sets for this particular model. Yes, it can be adapted
for the Italeri kit aswell.

Following the rounded edges of the turret cages can be tricky but shouldn't
be. PE mesh can be bend in a permanent shape to fit the cage. This also
makes attaching it to the model relatively easy. So if you can replace nylon
with PE or a replacement like the one Terry Alexander Li has than I highly
recommend that route.
How about nylon mesh? First, dry fit the mesh and make sure it's the right
size! If the mesh is incorrect removing it from the model afterwards can be
a real pain.
Secondly, apply glue to the model not the mesh! Never apply glue to the mesh
as it will fill up large parts of the mesh. During the painting process this
will become very vissible and is almost inpossible to repair.

How to use nylon mesh and get nice rounded curves with difficult cages like
the ones on the Leo 2A5? I generally use two methods for this:
1) Glue the nylon mesh in a few separate steps to the model. Don't try
glueing it completely in one go. This way you can focus you attention to the
part you're glueing without having fear that other parts of the mesh will
come loose.
2) A more difficult method is using very fine string. I use string to tye
the mesh onto the cage construction and apply a few drops of glue between
mesh and cage. It's very time consuming and the mesh should be strong
enough. On the other hand if the mesh doesn't fit it's a simple job to
remove the mesh or adjust it's fitting.

Regards,
Marcel Jussen
