I quite often use Evergreen or Plastruct .0010" * .0010" or .0020 *.0010"
styrene strip. I glue this on to the model with Tamiya liquid cement. It is
very easy to get a straight line with this type of product. After the strip
has had time to adhere to the model, I paint it with a bit more cement and
then create the appropriate texture with a knife blade or toothpick.

on a BRDM upper/lower hull join. I have had success with stretched spruce
replicating weld seams in other ares, but there is no way I am going to be
able to get a nice straight line with spruce around the whole upper hull!
