Hi

There are few methods.
1) heat a piece of sprue over a candle flame (don't let it catch fire!!!), and pull the sprue apart. That will give you a thin piece of plastic. It takes a little practice, but there are always lots of pieces of sprue to try out!!

2) guitar strings. Some folks use these

3) buy stainless steel or brass wire. You can buy very thin wire at hobby shops, and cut to length. I drill into the antenna mount with my pin vice, then glue the antenna in place. Works great, and very sturdy (for a wire!).
