I found the kit to be quite good overall. As David says, the suspension is good and it comes with both wheel types. One point where is scores above the Tamiya offering is the pressed wheels have details both sides unlike the hollow Tamiya ones. There is a choice of engine decks and the wading gear is fine, if a little basic, but can be detailed easily. The hull on the Tamiya tanks is not quite correct either I have found as it has recessed weld lines. The wood panelling has nice detail but can be left off the model if desired.
My view is neither kit is perfect but with a little effort both can make good models of the Sherman. The biggest difference is you can buy 2 Italeri ones for the price of 1 Tamiya one - a definite plus point for Italeri. |
